I’m concerned about other people logging on to my computer (friends, family members, etc.) who may come across my web surfing history. I tend to always clear my history to prevent this but I was wondering if there was something more effective and quicker out there that may help me maintain my privacy. Also, can someone actually obtain my IP address if I have a firewall? What’s a good firewall?

If you want easily erase your web browsing history, you should use Firefox (http://firefox.en.softonic.com/ie/50473) It has a “clear private data” function (you can find it under the “tools” section) which will not only erase your history but also all other traces of browsing.
If you want a good firewall install Kerio Sunbelt (http://sunbelt-kerio-personal-firewall.e…

use a system mechanic 6 ver to delete cache or internet files. it has the option to delete files permanently by which no one will come to know what u had seen. it also supports many other functions which u will find useful.
if you are directly connected to net i think no one can obtain the IP.except service providers.
password protect everything, clear your cache or use mozilla firefox as a browser and set it up so that when you close the browser a pop-up window reminds to you dump your history..windows firewall works decently but I don’t know about anyone obtaining your IP addresses unless you are surfing via a router the is unsecured
McAffe has good programs, but your going to have to be the administrator to manage the program. Yes, even with a good firewall, your IP address can be obtained, but only by someone that has the skills to hack well. A good firewall will set you up with at least one fake IP address.
Set your windows account with a password and make sure its not the Admin, when you download or save something, make sure it saves it to only that user instead of all users, that way you need a password to see it.
Install these programs on your computer, and you don’t have to worry about anyone stealing, or looking at your private files.. The only people who can obtain your IP address, is your ISP. Only if you have been reported to be doing something illegal on your computer.
