How Do I Upgrade My Graphics Card Or Can I Just Update My Software To Play The Sims3?

I keep getting error message so I downloaded easyinfo which is saying my graphics card is intel(R) 82865G graphic controller, but does not support vertex or pixel shader version. Whatever that means. So, how do I fix this cheap and easy? Thanks for any help.

That’s an integrated (part of your motherboard) graphics card from May 2003. If you want to run The Sims 3, you need a new graphics card in your PC. They range in price from $40-$200+ nowadays.

  2. Updating your GPU Driver can help out with things like that.
Now depending on how old your GPU card is then updating the driver may OR may NOT help.
You can upgrade the GPU in your laptop/PC for ~80$
(I had a decent card for about 80$) ( I later broke it but that is a different story.)

If you have a desktop, you just need to buy a new video card and install it. A descent, Sim 3 capable video card is only about $60-80 or so.
If you have a laptop, you’re out of luck and would have to buy an entirely new computer.
