This works every time:
Open ITunes,and THEN connect your iPod Touch. Itunes should automatically SYNC to it and transfer all you new purchases, unless you set iTune’s SYNC settings to “Manual”.

TIP: If you did NOT BUY some of your music from iTunes, meaning P2P (like LimeWire), post a separate question.
Plug in your iPod to computer, iTunes will detect the iPod automatically, then click iTunes menu “File -> Sync iPod”, the songs will be transferred from iTunes to iPod.

in itunes once the iPod is plugged in click the name of it and then in that page click manually manage music and then apply down the bottom right
then go back to music and press on your keyboard CTRL+A and drag the songs onto the name of your ipod. Thats it
