I have a 3 year old and I wish him learn how to swim but due to high risk of skin and sinus fungal infections that are resistent to treatments I am not willing to send him to a public swimming pool. I am thinking of an inflatable swimming pool. Has anyone had any experience or advice?

No. But my neighbors have, he was in a full sized pool, too. It was theirs. You should try it, if he doesn’t learn right away he will most likely enjoy it either way.
I have been a swimming instructor and swim coach for nearly 18 years.
– good luck with it all
It will be extremely difficult to teach your 3yr old how to swim if he can touch the bottom of the pool. When you teach a child to swim they have to not be able to reach the bottom as they have to learn to trust their own ability (& floats if you decide to go ahead and teach with those). Personally I have taught hundreds of babies through to adults how to swim and have not use arm or leg floaties. The only floatation devices used to assist have been a kickboard and pool noodle.
If you want to teach your child to swim to be able to save herself/himself in case she/he falls into a pool, I suggest teaching without arm and legs floaties…..think about it….your child is not going to slip and fall into a pool by accident with floaties on. Most kids that drown is because they do not know how to swim and when they fell in they did not know what to do as they could not float themselves etc.
Definitely teach your child to float on their back for as long as they can. Some kids hate it cause the water gets into their ears, but tell them that it doesn’t hurt, it just feels funny.
Its great you are keen to teach your child, definitely look up how to do this correctly of you don’t have any previous experience and ensure that you get a pool that is twice as deep as your child in height, cause as your child gets more confidently you will probably want them to go under and fetch things off the bottom, jump in etc.
Hop this has helped
