Whats The Best Free Software To Completely Wipe Out Vista?

I installed Vista but it messed up and now it is asking me for an access key(which I dont have cause I installed it from my friend who moved) and claims my copy of windows is not genuine-it truly is. Whats a good software to wipe it out so I can go back to XP(I have the cd, jsut need to rid myslef of vista) Thx!
