Personally I feel that if you go into another country and start breaking their laws, then you alone are responsible for the outcome.
Many nations are not soft like the West when it comes to drug dealing/smuggling.

This is a lesson to all those who travel to foreign countries, respect the laws of other nations…..
….or be prepared to face the consequences of your actions if you are caught. This goes to show that drug trafficking can be a deadly occupation.
Shaikh *willingly/knowingly* violated Chinese law and now he was punished under Chinese law.
That the UK has no death penalty is irrelevant, China is a Sovereign country and needs not seek permission of the UK to establish and enforce their own laws.
Why should China treat a British drug-dealer any different from their own citizens?
China’s view is going to be they shouldn’t and that their laws apply to everyone.

I don’t agree with capital punishment, no matter what the nationality of those tying the noose.
It is apparent that China is not a nation to play around with when it comes to crimes. The Chinese government is quick to execute over all sorts of crime – real and perceived. It puzzles me how we routinely treat China like this harmless little nation that does not engage in such practices (Remember Tiananmen Square?) and react with such fake outrage when the Chinese government does what it does best!
It made me sick. Normally, I would agree with you–people who smuggle drugs in the Asias get what’s coming to them, just for being so stupid (Singapore and Malaysia have executed enough drug smuggers from Australia, Britain, and other countries for people to realize that those people are not ****-ing around when they say that their laws carry a death penalty for drug dealing). But, this guy was a father of three, had mental problems, and I’m not sure that his trial was completely fair.

I support the action of China in this and applaud any country that executes drug smugglers, by executing one how many lives do they save by getting rid the trash that peddle the drugs.
The mental illness is a hoax. The man was very stable and uninterrupted during the court deliberations.
Why do they cry baby when a drug dealer received the due punishment?
