Step 1 HomePlug AV Kit from Actiontec
Get a HomePlug AV Ethernet Kit that includes two HomePlug AV Ethernet Adapters.
Step 2 Find your Broadband Modem/Router. You will need to connect an adapter to this Router.
Plug one end of the 1st Ethernet Cable into the Ethernet Port on the bottom of the 1st HomePlug Adapter.
Step 3 Plug the HomePlug Adapter into a Power Outlet. Do NOT plug the Adapter into a power strip or wall outlet that uses surge protection as the Adapter may not work.
Step 4 Plug the other end of the Ethernet Cable into an OPEN Ethernet Port on your Modem/Router.
An Ethernet Port looks similar to a phone port but is slightly larger.
Step 5 Find your Playstation 3. You will connect the 2nd HomePlug Adapter to this gaming device.
Step 6 Plug one end of the 2nd Ethernet Cable into the Ethernet Port on the bottom of the 2nd HomePlug Adapter.
Step 7Plug the HomePlug Adapter into a Power Outlet.
Do NOT plug the Adapter into a power strip or wall outlet that uses surge protection as the Adapter may not work.
Step 8 Plug the other end of the Ethernet Cable into the Ethernet Port on the Sony Playstation 3.
Step 9 Select “Network Settings”.
Step 10 Select “Internet Connection Settings”.
Step 11 Select “Yes”.
Step 12 Select “Easy”.
Step 13 The Playstation 3 will detect the conection. Make sure the “Connection Method” selected is “Wired Connection”. Then click “X” to save the settings.
The Playstation 3 is now connected to the Internet non-wirelessly.
