Can The Old Zune Software Detect A Zune Device That Has Been Updated?

I upgraded my Zune software && device and then decided I didn’t like the new software.
I used System Restore to get the software back to the old version, but the device is still updated.
When I plug up my device to the computer, the old Zune software doesn’t find it.
Any suggestions?

   similar problem happened to my zune – I install the old software on the other computer, it connected to my zune (new version) but I couldn’t add anything to sync.
   so I guess because of the different version, the software is incompatible.
