What Is The Best File Compression Software?

I have a massive file that is about 8GB. I made it a zip file and that brought it down to about 6GB but I need it to be less then 4GB. I need the best compression program that can compress files to the maximum lowest possible size!!! Please don’t give me a program that splits the file into many different files. I need to keep the compressed file together and back it up on one disk.

The open source option is 7 zip.
Depending on what type of file it is, it may not be possible to get it as small as you are wanting.
Try WinRAR.
