Would Describe What The Mormons Believe As Myths Or Is Myth Actually Overstating What They Believe?

I mean, there would have to be more evidence presented before what Mormons believe can be considered myth, right?

Some of what Mormons believe has been proven to be completely false..
ie the golden tablets and the story about the book of Mormon..

Um, well actually you’d probably have to *remove* a bunch of evidence to consider it a “myth.”
See, there’s quite a bit of evidence that clearly shows mormon beliefs to be provably false…most myths, while a bit wild and crazy, aren’t proven false (even though they aren’t at all plausible).
I mean, we can’t prove Jason didn’t really sail with the Argonauts in search of the Golden Fleece. We can prove Joseph Smith faked translations, lied about his ability to read Egyptian, and a number of other things…
    Peace.

  3. No, it’s the other way around. There has to be more evidence provided to prove that they AREN’T myths.

Mormons believe like all other religious denominations as far as your question is concerned. As far as their own history, it is rich in “urban legend.’

Myth: a traditional story accepted as history; serves to explain the world view of a people.
The pretty much fits most religious teachings – including Mormonism.

  6. I agree with the first post… The truth is out of every christian sect mormons are align in most harmony with biblical teachings! woahh imagine thatt?

Myths have nothing to do with evidence.
