Problems With Updating Bitdefender Antivirus Software?

I cant update my Bitdefender antivirus software on my laptop. It works fine on the PC though. It isnt obvious what the dfference is. Can anyone help?

need way more details – can you open the bitdefender web site from the laptop?
try un/re-installing bitdefender? – any errors on either? (except the update, we already know about that)
make sure windows firewall is disabled and try again – see if that helps?
