Most of the time, especially with these newer phones, you don’t need software for transferring data from the phone to a computer. I have a LG CU500 that came with a data cable. At first, I couldn’t get pictures off the camera because they were stored on the internal memory of the phone, not the small portable memory that I got with the phone. You should be able to see your phone after connecting it to your computer if you have portable memory; it’ll look like a small external hard drive. If not, maybe your pictures are on the internal memory and you need to move them onto the portable memory, and THEN you’ll be able to see the pictures and cut/copy them onto your personal computer. See if that works.
