I installed a dvd player in my computer that i salvaged from a computer that is not the same make as my new one. I dont have any of the software or anything for it so I cant really use it to watch dvd’s as it is. Is there a free download somewhere online that I can get to make it work, or do I have to tear it back out of my tower, find the make and model, and go to the manufacturer for a service patch or something?

If you’re looking for something that’s free you can try VideoLAN – VLC media player. It’s really good too.

You can also use Windows Media Player to play DVDs.
The latest version is 11 and it’s pretty nice and free.
