You may need to purchase a USB Wireless Internet connector. They are sold like moble phone plans
In Australia they are sold by Vodiaphone and Telstra

If it is PnP windows XP or Vista will load a driver. Otherwise the needed software will come with the devise.

yes and you will need a router somewhere that connects to a line for the internet.. unless you buy WWAN which is slower than anything, requires a different type of antenna than 802.11, and works most places but costs a fortune to lease.
but in general, if you pay for high-speed internet, have a wireless router connected and configured, and install the drivers for the usb antenna, it should just work.
