i read from a forum that the US upgrade won’t work with japan PS3..if that’s thte case, how do i upgrade my japan PS3 software?

I have a Japanese PS3 and all you have to do is click on the update icon if you’re connected to the net. It will automatically use the Japanese update info and you will get the right update.
You have to goto the playstation japan site. Hope you read japanese. ANyway there may be tutorials on how to make the right selections on YOUTUBE for the japanese console when you live here.
ALso have you tried just hooking the ps3 up to the internet and running setup then selecting update and letting the ps3 find the right site on it’s own. Tutorial for that may also be on youtube.com
