i never really worked with my guitar and a computer but my friends want me to lay some riffs on their beats and i want to know what software and other stuff i might need… i like to keep it cheap though so dont bust my balls here

Lol, i’m in the same situation as you and i found Audacity, its really simple to use the basics (which is all you really need for that) and it’s free…http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download…
There is a program called Guitar Tracks Pro by Cakewalk and it cost around $100 bucks. Only runs on Windows XP i think.
well i would probably have to say apple computers,
but if you want something cheap..
well i have no idea what computer will do that.
