If you import/capture the minidv to your computer in an mpeg2 format (DVD format) I think the best editing software for mpegs is called Mpeg Video Wizard DVD, made by womble (www.womble.com). Whats so neat about this, is it focus's only on editing mpeg files, allowing it to very quickly re-compile movie segments you haven't edited (there are 2 forms of editing, 1: where you cut, remove, and move around clips, but don't actually change the clips, and 2: where you actually edit the picture, such as color brightness, overlayed text, etc--I'm refering to the second type here).
