I have tried a few but after using the vocal remover you could still hear the singing. I am trying this with folk music, I don’t know if that makes a difference.

you cant do it. i am a producer and this is quite a common question from vocalists who are practising but it isnt worth attempting, honestly.
you could get some music software and try using filters eq gaining and things like that but it wont fully go it like trying to remove an instrument… its part of the track. you’re best bet is to try and find the instrumental version. this is basically the music without vocals just search google.
Vocal reduction works on some songs much better than others. It all depends on how the song track was recorded. Since all vocal reducing software works on the same principal, no one program works much better than another. You can never remove ALL the vocals from a song track.
