How To Shift From Software Job To Marketing Or Finance?

I’m a final year IT engineering student and placed in a a software company.but I dnt want to join a software company.Can i apply for a finance or marketing job with my kind of a profile?also tell about the online or correspondence course(apart from mba) which i can do.

    You did not specify whether you do not want in a programming capacity or whether you just don’twant to work in a software Co.
    If you don’t want to work in a programming capacity, then there areother IT related jobs you can get into with minimal further training such as networking, Etc.
    However you can definitely get an IT job within a marketing /finance firm.
    If you want to move completely away from IT into a strict finance/marketing capacity this can also be done since employers favor the analytical skills of IT majors. I know for a fact that the majority of investment banks choose IT/ Eng majors for non IT jobs once they have an analytical mindset, so you definitely be OK, just start reading financial publications such as the Wall Street Journal and buy basic finance/mktg college textbooks to arn basic concepts, it would definitely help with job interviews to understand financial jargon
