Where Can I Get Some Password Software?

Where can I find some software to use that puts extra protection on logging on to my laptop. I’ve seen some where u have to pick a series of colors after you type in your password before it lets you on. Is there something like that for free that I can download?

   Why not just put a system password in the bios. That way no one will be able to do anything without opening up your computer.
