Me and my dad have a Panasonic VDR-M50 DVD Video Camcorder, but the problem is we want to be able to not only take pictures and video, but we also need to be able to take the pictures and video off the camera. But software is needed,we dont have the software cause we bought it used and it wasnt given to us with the software to use on a computer. We have a usb to connect it to the compter but we cant actually do anything with it without the software that works with it.I’ve searched endlessly looking for the software for this camera;but it’s either not there to be found or when I went on the panasonic site one time it said the camera was discontinued.
Can anyone point me to a site to dowload the necessary program for the camera or another solution to solve this problem?
Again,it’s a Panasonic VDR-M50 DVD Video Camera
Thanx!:-)

The Panasonic VDR-M50 uses ImageMixer3 software for either Mac or Windows Vista which is available for download at the site linked below.

Besides the software, your computer will also need a firewire card installed in your computer and a firewire cord.
If it is a dvd camcorder then you do not need any cable or specialised software at all – you should edit your videos this way
Use a programme such as Ulead VideoStudio – you take the mini-disc out of your camcorder and put it into the DVD tray of your PC making sure it sits centrally in the little depression made for it. You may have to ‘finalise’ the mini DVD your camera manual will tell you how to do that – but you should note that once a DVD is finalised you cannot record any more video on it.
Inside VideoStudio you select “Insert DVD” and point the programme at the DVD and follow the prompts and the video is copied from the disc into the timeline of VideoStudio so that you can edit it – add lots of different videos together – add titles/music/narration – make a file that you can e-mail or upload to ‘Youtube’ etc. and finally burn to a full size DVD to play in a standard player.
