   You must first start on which domain or technology you are going to offer your software services… and then based on that you need to enquire that wat businesses that technology can be made useful in… and then based on that u can surf on net to get the data of some companies and start marketing that you are offering so and so solution on particular business domain and try convincing them using a Presentation… if everything goes well u can get the project…
   also for the clients to approach you.. market in internet sites where one can find your company’s web site and check out what all you have got and contact you.
