It really depends on what you want to do. Photoshop is expensive, but is going to be overall much more flexible to be able to do things besides scrapbooking. You might want to look into Photoshop Elements, which is the much less expensive consumer version of Photoshop. Any time you buy something that is for a limited purpose or niche market, that software is going to be limited too, and probably proportionally more expensive. Photoshop can be used for so many things beyond what you are doing.
However, I looked at what you are using, and although you’d be spending more money over the long run, if you don’t want to do all the design work yourself, then you may want to go ahead and purchase this.
If you intend to do more than scrapbooking, if you want to do real photo editing and image manipulation work, then you will probably want to get Photoshop, but I do recommend Photoshop Elements. Yu will be able to find free templates on line (by searching) that you will be able to use in Photoshop, plus there are several companies where you can take your images and put them into books to be printed (even like scrapbooking books). Your local camera store or even your local pharmacy may offer services where you can put together books with background choices and so on.
Hope that helps.
