Which Photo Editing Software Should I Get?

I am looking at Adobe Photoshop Elements 7, Adobe Photoshop Extended 11.0 (CS4) or Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. I am not sure if Photoshop Extended is worth the money for me, since I have never used Photoshop. I was thinking about the Corel software because to me, it seems easier to use.
I will be using this software for retouching and enhancing artistic-like photographs mainly.
