I’ve been using a program called PhotoImpression by Arcsoft to edit pictrues. I’m trying to find more photo editing software programs but I don’t know which to get. Do you have any recommendations?

Paint Shop Pro is the easiest to use with the most fun, common, easy, stuff and still be called “advanced” photo editing software. Photoshop…. More for “programmer types” and seriously money oriented interoperability kinda folks. -If ya don’t know THAT word, yet? PSP.
Gimp is making really solid ground in the Linux Operating system, and Picasa is out by Google – and both are free options. Good ones that I’ve not tried yet. Downloading Picasa…..
adobe photoshop
Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Fireworks are the two I would reccommend depending on your familiarity with the programs.
Adobe Photoshop calls for more knowledge of the software and can take some time to get used to.
Macromedia Fireworks is very user friendly and easy to get used to, but it doesn’t have some of the features Photoshop is famous for.
There is also a software called Picasa that is free. It’s really, really easy and user friendly.
Depending on the complexity of your editing, I would just go with Picasa if you want to do basic edits.
The link to the free download of Picassa is http://picasa.google.com/download/
I hope this helps!
I’ve been using Jasc PaintShopPro for a while now but they were bought by Corel. They have a bunch of good filters you can use to enhance the pictures. You might want to look into some tutorials as well if you are going to try more advanced tools
