i am looking at building a system for my kids and have been looking for an oem software package. i dont know what the difference is between the 2 versions but am guessing the 64 bit one is better in some way? can anyone explain in simple terms please.

if the CPU supports it go with the 64 bit, the big difference is we have reached the limit with RAM on 32 bit OS which is a bit over 3 GB. 64 is just the next step up in prgression no reason not to go with it and from what i seen today on amazon i believe the 64-bit vista where a few bucks cheaper
64BIT, has better everything really, better color, and can handle better hardware, like more RAM, if you dont know much about computers, you would be fine with 32BIT, but If you like customizing and all that kinda stuff, go for the 64
