What Does It Mean When Your Primary Ide Master Is Not Detected On The Comp?
My primary IDE master is saying it is not detected and so is the IDE slave on my computer, also when I run the recovery disk it says it cannot find the hard drive. What can i do besides calling the manufacturer that charges a boat load of monies. Are there any hardware softwares that can locate the hard drive??? please anything that is helpful…i really do not want to go buy another hard drive.

What Programming Language Or Software Should I Learn?
I am studying Algebra and want to later on move to Calculus. I need a mental approach to algebra and calculus. I want to do all the math in my head and type the results on a keyboard and then verify and correct, just as I would do with arythmetic multiplications table etc.
So I was thinking of writing my own mental algebra and mental calculus software, with graphics display, keyboard and mouse events.
Should I learn Java, would this work with Windows XP and later on Vista ?
Or is there a software that aldready exists to will help me train in mental algebra and mental calculus.
I just hate the pencil and paper approach to mathematics, too boring, too time consuming and too endumbing. I type for a living, so I master the keyboard.
Math training should be in my head and at my fingertips.

Computer Keeps Restarting Itself? Just Before Windows Loads.?
I installed two softwares on my computer today, and now every time I turn the computer on it immediately restarts just before windows loads.
I’ve tried running it in safe mode and last known configuration, but neither of those options works.
I’m using XP.
I tried running the XP CD and selecting the recovery option, once I did that, I typed chkdsk and it did what ever it does.
But still didn’t work.
The hard drive *does* actually still work, because I got it plugged in my laptop now. When I say work, I mean… I can look at the files, but, I still can’t run windows from it.
What can I do?
PS: When I selected the recovery option, it didn’t seem to do anything. It just gave me a command line where I had to type chkdsk.

What’s Wrong With My Pc?
Ok so my computer was really starting to mess up and my taskbar, desktop start menu and icons disapeared i tried to find a solution but nothing helped. I then tried to do a system recovery which would completely get rid of all the problems.
However i could not do a system recovery due to the blue screen of death. Every time i tried do a system recovery, as soon as the recovery is loading, the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH comes up!!
I’ve tried anti virus softwares such as AVG. I’ve tried RegCure and a few othher softwares and NOTHING WORKS!!!!
Please help me someone! I can’t live without my PC and i don’t want to end up buyin a new one! Were in a recession and everyone’s on a low budget.
My computer is a HP Pavillion 423.uk bought in 2003. It has Windows XP Home edition.
Also, this PC did not come with a recovery CD which could have resolved my problem, i’ve tried buying one from HP and a few other places but no one sells it anymore. Apparently it is illegal!
