I Need Advice About What Software To Use To Monitor The Amount Of Data Coming Over An Internet Connection.?

I present a scenario, you are on a el-cheapo mobile internet plan with a daily limit of 10mb of data a day. Going over that allotment is not desirable. The host computer is a tablet pc running Windows XP. What software or techniques would you recommend to help manage and/or monitor the amount of data going over the connection?
