    Hi,
Firstly don’t be scared, XP is quiteresilient (believe it or not!).
Security programs are always the hardest to make work well, especially firewalls. I recommend only installing one at a time, i.e. don’t install to firewall softwares or antivirus software, it will not work!
Tip #1 Only becuase you’re doing a lot of “checking out” of software I recommedn you create a System Restore Point beforehand to ensure if you have any big issues you can go back to a stage before the problem occurs.
You do this by going to Start > Programs> Accessories> System tools> System restore.
Tip #2 rather than use the software on the CD, download the latest version of that program from the software makers homepage.

I say 90 percent when installing that software will go smoothly… The 9 percent depends on conflicts due to software incompatinilities… 1 percent I just put one percent to make my answer longer…

  3. Just establish a restore point and if you run into trouble, restore to the before the install.
