So heres how this all started…
I was on a website (forgot what website) when a pop up saying something like “Warning, your computer is infected with 300 trojans, download Personal Antivirus to remove these trojans”.. So i clicked download and ran a scan with Personal Antivirus and said i had 2000 different viruses…
Any way the next day, i went on the computer again and i did another scan on Personal Antivirus and it said i have over 15000 different viruses. I decided to run a scan with avg free 8.5 and it came up with no viruses. But just incase this wasnt true i downloaded different antivirus programs and now im using avast free. After download was completed i tried to delete Personal Antivirus thinking it was all fake, but it wouldnt delete. After trying hard to delete it, I finally got rid of it.
After that i thought it would be safe to go on the internet again…
So i tried to go on youtube but a pop up came up and said…

Don’t behave like automatic person and do what ask by internet web sites. Justlike you encountered.
There are virus them selves.
However you have already infected.
try these methods.
download ‘trojan remover or spybot.
for a complete list of removal tools go here: http://winguard.blogspot.com
after installing tools described above, run a complete scan and remove all viruses and trojans.
Haha. You’ve just been caught by one of the oldest tricks around. The virus was downloaded by the popup.
Get Malwarebytes, update it, do a full scan. When it’s finished, get AVG, update it, do a full scan. Then leave AVG running on your machine.
@all other posters
Spybot catches spyware. Not viruses. There is a difference. And in this case, I think that he’s gotten a virus. It’s a different name, but same symptoms as older scams.
Downloading personal antivirus was the thing that infected ur pc evey ad u see on the internet about an antivirus saying that u have a virus or whatever is a virus.
to remove this i recommend using
AVG antivirus(free edition is good)
Nod32
delete personal antivirus manually: http://www.spywarevoid.com/personal-anti… it’s a fraud for sure.
Personal Antivirus is the virus. Because you did that phoney scan, you are now infected.
install Spybot Search and Destroy to eliminate malware in your computer
chlutak is right. download spybot search & destroy. its free and will fix most problems like you describe (spyware, adware, malware)… make sure to run all updates before doing full scan. after full scan complete run again to make sure you get two clean scans in a row. restart between each scan. run windows in “safe mode with networking” (press f8 on startup) before running scan if you have problems.
Also, go to control panel then “programs” menu to uninstall any software/search bars/etc that you dont recognize or dont need (when in doubt, delete it).
for bad infections download and burn a “rescue CD” that you can boot with. this bypasses windows and does a complete scan/removal before the spyware has a chance to stop you. best free option is bit defender rescue CD- see links below.
scrutinize pop ups carefully. they are meant to look like your computer is warning you but usually is a scam to get you to download software that causes you more problems than it will ever fix.
Help is available…read on:
‘Tired Trucker’ is right – the website was a trap and it’s creators tricked you into downloading at least one virus or more. You can’t trust whatever numbers their fake anti-malware program is telling you. If you ever see a message like that again – especially with no way to close it out – do NOT click on *their* page at all. Just turn off the internet fast or power down your machine with the off button. Then restart it as normal and scan for viruses, etc. with a real program. And then after that is done do the same thing with another good one. Because the nasties are getting clever so watch out. The people running the sites below can help you find good anti-malware.
So sorry that happened. I actually went for a long time in the early years with no protection at all. And even with having a lot of reputable programs now it’s an ongoing job to keep a machine clean. As virus creators remain busy, busy, busy.
You need help – if you are not taking your machine in for servicing there is good FREE help available:
It might take a few days to get started with someone [due to so many people needing assistance]. And a few more days or maybe even a week or two to finish (possibly longer). But last time I actually took my laptop in to a shop for servicing I was without it for more than a week. So no big deal on the waiting with the online help.
The people who volunteer, they are very serious about making a difference. They do not charge any money and many of them who do this have computer jobs in the industry. Some also have families to take care of, too. So if you go this way with it be nice and be patient for these reasons and more. Since they do NOT have to do what they are very generously doing.
Two places you can check out and decide which one you want to get help from:
http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php
Scroll down to their **Malware Removal** forum. Once you click your way in there read the instruction posts at the top.
or try this one:

Majorgeeks uses some of the Bleepingcomputer site info for some of their processes. And Bleepingcomputer has Majorgeeks on their list of other forums good to go to for help. Some sites have had to stop helping users due to the overwhelm of need – so I say we (the world) are lucky that this is still an option.
Checkout the pages, read the information available. And if you go for either of these options check your posts for responses **every single day.** And when a helper does take your case follow their instructions.
Hang in there, all will be well again. You can learn a lot with a situation like this. And as a result you’ll be well prepared for when you next go surfing happily on the web. (o:
