Why Does Windows Explorer Need Internet Access Zonealarm ?

I got zonealarm free edition and I have windows vista home basic I have ran my AVG antivirus software and windows defender and it comes up clean. I have both of them up to date AVG 8.0
Why does windows explorer need internet access for?
right out of the blue yesterday it popup saying it needs internet access.
when I right click on the desktop and then click on personalize then it also ask me that windows explorer need internet access
