If I Go Mac, Whats The Best Word Software For Making Sure Word Documents Are Compatible With Pc’s?

I’ve read reviews that say Office Mac is rubbish. I want to go mac, but i want to be able to make sure any work i do at home is compatible with windows Microsoft office at school?
Anyone had the same problem? What software would i need?

    Office 2008 for the Mac is actually quite good. It gets the same number of stars from CNet as the Windows version. There are alternatives, however. Both iWork and OpenOffice/NeoOffice offer very good Office compatibility. iWork will cost you about $80 but OpenOffice.org and NeoOffice are free. Demos are available for both iWork and Microsoft Office 2008. Check the links below. My advice would be to try them all, and purchase the one (if necessary) you like the best. My favorite is iWork.

    Whoever told you Office Mac was rubbish is uninformed. It works beautifully and is totally compatible with PC Office.
