Help!!! My Laptop’s Processor Might Be Dying!?!?
I have a HP pavilion laptop, which i bought one and a half years ago. I love this laptop, but I didn’t get any securtiy software, so my laptop was infected twice. Both times, i had to do a complete system overhaul and do a system recovery, which just takes the laptop to its initial condition. Everything worked fine after the last system recovery, but I discovered something very disconcerting!
my laptop ran at 1.8ghz and that is its factory setting. But now, when I run the “dxdiag” tool to see the system spec, the processor is posted at 790 mhz!!!
I haven’t felt any effects yet because the laptop still runs pretty fast and is fine. But, i want to run a game that needs 1ghz. Did my laptor deteriorate or is the dxdiag just reading it wrong?
Please help me! Why is it like this and how can I fix it.
p.s. I don’t have anything big on the laptop. I have only one game and just documents. How could the processor going down?
