My laptop, an HP pavilion dv6000, just stopped picking up networks this weekend. It says the driver is not installed.
I bought my laptop just over a year ago so my warranty i would suppose is out, is there anything i can do?
I did a system revert to like 2 days before it happened, and that didn’t help, and then i did a system recovery thing and got everything back to factory setting and whatnot. After i updated all the software the driver installed and worked fine for the night, but the next day i started my system up again and once again i can not pick up an signals. Why is my driver uninstalling itself?

Really hope someone can help.
I just got off the phone to Dell in relation to problems I’m having with my laptop and they tell me it’s a result of software conflicts. In order to fix the problem I need to reinstall my operating system.
The big(gest) problem is that I don’t have the installation files for a lot of software I use (mainly CS3 among others) as I can’t find the CDs. I also don’t have a storage big enough to make a back up of the important stuff on my 160GB HDD.
First of all, what can I do to retrieve CS3?
Also, is an OS reinstall really necessary? Here’s a rundown of the symptoms along with some other details:
When laptop is running the screen is covered in transparent boxes (maybe the video card is messed up?)
BSOD when trying to boot up in normal mode (error: 0x0000007F)
Startup Recovery doesn’t help
System Restore was disabled prior to this problem
Safe mode boots up but problem with screen persists
Thanks for taking the time to read this, hope you can help!

16). A plain computer illiterate guy rings tech support to report that his
Computer is faulty.
Tech: What’s the problem?
User: There is smoke coming out of the power supply.
Tech: You’ll need a new power supply.
User: No, I don’t! I just need to change the startup files.
Tech: Sir, the power supply is faulty. You’ll need to replace it.
User: No way! Someone told me that I just needed to change the startup and
it will fix the problem! All I need is for you to tell me the command.
10 minutes later, the User is still adamant that he is right. The tech is
frustrated and fed up.
Tech: Sorry, Sir. We don’t normally tell our customers this, but there is
an undocumented DOS command that will fix the problem.
User: I knew it!
Tech: Just add the line LOAD NOSMOKE.COM at the end of the CONFIG.SYS. Let
me know how it goes.
10 minutes later.
User: It didn’t work. The power supply is still smoking.
Tech: Well, what version of DOS are you using?
User: MS-DOS 6.22.
Tech: That’s your problem there. That version of DOS didn’t come with
NOSMOKE. Contact Microsoft and ask them for a patch that will give you the
file. Let me know how it goes.
1 hour later.
User: I need a new power supply.
Tech: How did you come to that conclusion?
User: Well, I rang Microsoft and told him about what you said, and he
started asking questions about the make of power supply.
Tech: Then what did he say?
User: He told me that my power supply isn’t compatible with NOSMOKE.

Are those infected items by Malwarebytes true? I already quaratined and deleted but what do they do? I googled the results and some people said Spybot might detect these but it was a false alarm.

I use Word and Excel to record my background information and research. I can think of lots of features that these don’t have that would be helpful, but I haven’t seen anything out there that will do more for me.
I didn’t like what I saw on Dramatica’s website, but I haven’t actually tried it. There’s some other software I’ve seen advertised, but I don’t know anyone who’s used it.

On my Fujitsu Siemens computer my volume icon on the bottom right hand icon panel the volume icon has totally disappeared.I have recently used my product recovery disc to totally wipe my computer. But the icon was working fine until i put it on mute and it totally disappeared. Every time i try to use the volume in accessories or control panel, it tells me to go to hardware and download the software. But i see no software for the particular icon, and every time i go on the internet for advice, they use complicated language with files i need to copy e.t.c. I really need some simple advice so that i can have my sound back.

My dad just got ripped off at Best Buy, having the Geek Squad install a whole bunch of antivirus/backup software I could’ve installed for free.
He gets ripped off, embarassingly a lot, and despite what I try to tell him, he never learns.
Do people who are suckers bother you? Why are some people so stupid with money? Does it show that they don’t respect themselves or their future in a way? Maybe it’s a rich people thing, because he’s a doctor?
What’s the deal?
