Well, I have been drawing, for many years now, an invention I have had of mine. Now I want to start prototyping and becoming more active on my invention. I need to three dimensionally design my experiment, cheaply. I know what some of you might say, “just do it in real life” But that is very expensive . So basically, what is a good, easy, three dimensional design software, that is free?

I tried to troubleshoot a Dell computer with the Windows XP media center edition. Windows appears to be starting up, but it reaches the welcome screen and stays there. I tried booting from a Symantec recovery disc from a Norton Systemworks Premier package in hopes of restoring the most recent settings, but the software couldn’t see the hard drive. I tried to repair the installation with a Windows XP OS CD, but it didn’t seem to see the hard drive, either. I thought I could at least leave an Ubuntu Linux live CD so the owner could access the Internet, and after it loaded, it could see the hard drive. I tried to click on the main partition, and the following error message was displayed:
Cannot mount volume.
Unable to mount the volume.
Details
$LogFile indicates unclean shutdown (0,0) Failed to mount ‘/dev/sda2′: Operation not supported Mount is denied because NTFS is marked to be in use.
There was more, but I’m running out of space. Is there any way to get back into Windows as it was?

i have a 30GB video ipod i use for itunes and storage…but now i have a need to use it as a storage device for recording live music and video in my makeshift home studio..Using Fruity Loops Studio 8 and Virtual Dub1.9.1 and I want to write the recorded stuff to it thru the USB connection while i play some tracks on my C:\ drive and use the software on my C:\ drive…the problem is i do have a D:\ but it is recovery only and doesn’t have ample space…would the FAT32 pose a problem with all these large files and formats? I’m talking above 500MB a single file..*.wav and *.avi and if i have to…i’ll convert the ipod to NTFS for this use alone and then maybe go back when i want it for iTunes…can I do that? I don’t want to have to start all over with this computer to get a larger partition on the D:\…any advice and does it matter?

I have Windows XP Home Edn. installed on my notebook which has been severely infected by viruses. There is just one HD in the laptop. I installed XP on it. While selecting the type of install, i selected the one that had option for overwriting everything and not creating a fresh operating system. But now all the older files still exist and I’ve got 2 operating systems on my system. Please someone solve these problems::
(i) I need just one operating system.
(ii) I want to clear all the older files and data.
(iii) If anyone does know he/she can also suggest some good antivirus software available for free download and use on the internet.

i had office 2007 ultimate on my comp before with the key (this was dloaded btw and not pirated). i still have the key but apparantley i used system recovery because i had too many viruses…but now i dont have ultimate i have the normal office 2007 software that came with the comp on factory settings. i try to enter the key that was given to me before but it says invalid key.
so tell me is something screwd up or do i hav to dload office 2007 ultimate again then put the key. thx in advance

i have used all the major antivirus software, especially the free stuff. avira, avast , and avg, and in my view avg free is the most overrated program going today.
so many other programs, especially avira, have passed it up, avira’s detection rate, real time protection are all vastly superior. it ranks right up there with kaspersky and nod 32, and surpasses in some cases.
and yet whenever i browsed the security section all i hear is, ” try avg ” ” hey get avg ”
i think avg is like a mom and pop convenience store down the street, there are better options but the loyal users just can’t tear themselves from it, sort of like spybot in a way as well.
