This is an issue where i have been always confused about which side to take.Women associate working with their independence. And they have been(sometimes forcibly)kept home for their ability to bear and rear a child. More because only a woman can breast feed a child. As far as i know,a child needs 12-16 months of breastfeeding for a healthy life ahead. But that can always be a huge hindrance for a woman’s job,and so her hard earned independence(unless, she is a software developer like me,where coding can be done at home as well). But providing child with breast milk is also an important issue for following reasons:
1.a child has only few months of infancy, where as a mother has her whole life to recover as a working woman
2.it is not the childs decision that it came in the world.so those who brought it have the responsibility at hand
3.(a)if the child is a girl, than the mother is denying another woman-to-be a healthy life ahead,by denying her breast milk.
3.(b)and if the child is a boy than the mother is being biased against a male
……in both cases the purpose of feminism may stand defeated.
But a meternity period of 1.5 to 2 years is not a joke. A person is bound to lose touch with current affairs and the recovery is back breakingly tough.
your views can make me come to a decision about which side to take,as being a man myself i have no idea, what women think.(and let me clarify: I am not in favour of keeping breast milk in some kind of storage. it should be given fresh, if it is given at all.)
