Question About Norton Anti Virus And Virus Detection?

I was browsing the internet yesterday and suddenlly I got a window that popped up from my Norton Antivirus software saying that Norton AntiVirus had detected a virus and that it has been immediately deleted. I ran a virus scan afterwards and there were no threats. I’ve never had this happen before so my question is, do I need to do anything, like go into the Norton and quarantine or do something to make sure my computer is threat-free? Or is it all taken care of? I don’t know, it just seems too easy to have the software delete the virus immediately and then that’s it!

How Is Quickheal Antivirus Program? Is It Strong Or Weak?

someone recommended me to get quickheal antivirus software. My norton antivirus subscription expired and i really do not want to use norton again, because it failed to protect computer and i had to do hard drive recovery many times.
I went to quickheal antivirus website and i read that the quickheal security suite costs $52 an year.
Isn’t $52 an year bit too much for security suite? it has antivirus, firewall, antispwyare combined.
But I just don’t feel comfortable paying $52 for 1 year subsciption to quickheal. However Norton does poor job.
So what should I use now?

Please Help With Virus Removal Software!?

I recently had avast antispyware on my computer and uninstalled it because i found an old norton 360 cd. I installed the norton 360 and came to find out i didnt have the product key. So i uninstalled norton and tried to install avg antivirus free version. I downloaded the file but when i try to install it i get the following error: action failed for file avgtdix.sys:starting service… Error 0×80070014. Someone please help! I already used the norton removal tool and i tried to install spybot to get rid of all virus programs and im getting another error trying to install it too

How Can I Restore My System After Getting A “stop:c0000218″ Message?

I received a STOP (error) message on my Dell computer, and want to reinstall the recovery CD. The OS I have is Windows XP.
The trouble is that I can’t get to my drives to open this disk and run the program. Am I doing something wrong? What steps do I need to follow in order to restore my system?
Here’s the message:
STOP:c0000218 (registry file failure.the registry cannon find load the hive file:systemroot,system32/SOFTWARE,config… of its log on alternate its corrupt,absent or not writeable..

What’s The Best Value Audio Editing Software?

I am putting together a pod cast, and have experience using cool edit pro and adobe audition. I don’t have the access to either of these anymore or the funds to pay for the software. Is there any audio editing programme out there that is good and cheap?! I will be using music so I want to chop and paste all the parts together as a sort of radio show rather than straight talking?

How Do You Repair That Ntldr File On An Acer Aspire 5100 With Windows Xp, But Never Came With An Xp Disk?

I was previously attacked by several viruses on my Acer Aspire 5100. I couldn’t get rid of all of them, so I decided to try to reformat my computer using eRecovery. It started to clear my C drive, but at 97%, it suddenly stopped, and turned off. I tried to turn my computer back on, but it wouldn’t work. After 10 minutes, I was finally able to turn it on, but it suddenly said:
NTLDR is missing
Press any key to restart
I kept pressing random keys, but it would not work. I tried the solutions on: http://tinyempire.com/notes/ntldrismissing.htm , but they would not work. I tried my recovery disks, but they would not work. My Acer Aspire 5100 never came with a Windows XP disk. Is there any way that I could fix my computer without having to buy any software?
