I tried installing on my laptop but the norton 360 software requires 256 RAM – it seemed to install ok but on startup it goes into Windows XP ok but then it freezes and doesnt show the taskbar or anything, just my desktop wallpaper.
My laptop is a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro
I have tried booting in safe mode and safe mode with networking but it still does the same just goes off. I have a system recovery CD but this will not boot either!

i think i have a virus bc i wanna download an antivirus software and at the bottom when i google it it says analitic-check and then when i click on the link on google it says a bunch of numbers at a bottom looking like an IP address idk and then it takes me to all these fake sites and stuff and if someone gives me a link if i wanna go to like bleepingcomputers.com for example it just stops and says try again and its not my browser bc i tried opera I.E and also i tried to do safe mode with networking not working to download something to get rid of this and it deleted most of my icons and at the bottom where the time is it says virus alert like 20:20 and it does not let me view all programs and when i wanna do a system restore it wont let me go NEXT ..is there anything else i can do? *******remember I CANT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING AT ALL!!!!!!!! SO DO NOT GIVE ME ANY LINKS BECAUSE IT WILL NOT WORK!!!!!!!****** but anything i can do? i DONT have a recovery CD and i cant afford to spend ANY MONEY ON THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!! PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP =( i just need a way i can download because it will not and i repeat once again will NOT let me download!

Doesn anyone know of a free program or software that can get rid of viruses? I have norton anti virus it works fine and up to date. Problem is that it cant delete, clean or quarantine some viruses/trojans etc. because I believe its in a effective state where even my norton antivirus software can’t help. Please someone tell me any other way to get rid of these stupid spyware/malware/trojans. Thanks

It’s on XP SP2, with which I do have a disk for if necessary. The error isn’t following any recent changes in hardware or software as none had been made.
It goes to the loading screen – with the windows logo and the scrolling blue bars, and then goes to a BSOD, with the specific error given as ’0x0000007e (0xc0000005, 0xbaa28756, 0xbacc342c, 0xbacc3128)’.
Safe mode does proceed to the log-on screen, but with no mouse response, both via USB and PS/2. This happens when the HDD is in two seperate systems, one Custom built and one DELL system (the system the HDD was originally from – it’s out of warranty and DELL say reformat and re-install).
So far I’ve had it run in the Custom system, and it’s had a CHKDSK run on it from start-up, and I’ve also gone into the XP Recovery Console and used the command ‘FixBoot’ to no avail. Any help as I do believe it’s a simple problem.
Any ideas as to the problem, and any further ideas on how to fix it?

I just got that Mcafee total protection. So I uninstalled my current antivirus program(CA EZtrust) I got it for free from my Broadband internet provider(RoadRunner-Time warner cable)
The problem is that when I try to install Mcafee it says that CA EZtrust Antivirus is still installed and will not install the Mcafee Antivirus
This is a real problem because now my computer is unprotected from viruses and i really need this issue solved like now

For some reason lately my computer has been running much slower than when I first got it. And I have PC-Cillin from Trend Micro and it says I don’t have a any dangers, but recently I was searching the web and I accidentaly came across a website that was fake did that whole, “Your Computer is at Risk, installing Anti-Virus Software”. I closed the website down almost instantly after opening it. But I still had a Virus. I removed it, but I still think there is a virus that Trend is not catching. My PC is running slower, and this was a VERY expensive computer and I don’t have a back-up Vista disk as it did not come with one, and when I try to make my own with the Recovery Disk Creator, it always freezes.
So is there anything I can do to possibly see if there is one, WITHOUT downloading anything off the web. I have had bad experiances in the past with that.
