My Laptop Freezes Randomly , Esc Key And Ctrl/alt/del Keys Don’t Work .so I Have To Turn It Off.what Is Wrong?

My laptop (IBM think pad A 31) started suddenly and randomly freezing recently. This occurs while running any program and sometimes even during start up and shut down. The freeze up is not specific to any particular program and occurs after a variable period of apparently normal operation(mostly after few minutes but sometimes after 1-2 hours) Safe mode works fine. I tried to run antivirus scan, deleted recently installed software and run scan disk, disk clean up and disk defragment. There is adequate free disk space. My computers fan works well. I also tried troubleshooting with system configuration to no avail. What is the problem?

Why Won’t My Windows Start? ?

our computer shut down on us last night. When we attempted to turn it back on, Windows will not start. A black screen comes up that says something along the lines of “Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change may have caused this”. At the bottom of the screen, there are 5 options. “safe mode” “safe mode w/ networking” “safe mode w/ command prompt” “last known good configuration” and “start windows normally”. None of the above work. The windows logo comes up and appears to be starting, then goes away, then comes up again and at the top there is “press f2 for setup and f12 for boot menu”. (I don’t know what they mean so I didn’t try them). After that it just goes right back to the previous screen.
I have a disk that says “operating system” on it and I think it’s to reinstall windows. If I do that….1. How do I do it. and 2. Will it erase everything on my computer previously (programs, aol, pictures, etc) and if so, once we get windows back up, can we do a recovery to about 3 days ago and will everything be there?

How Do I Get Unwelcome Anti-virus Software Off My Computer?

I keep getting a message that my computer is “under attack by over 90 instances of spyware”. And of course to get out of the screen, you have to click on their free scan box, which takes you to their website, and you have to order their software for the scan. I have tried Spybot, Housecall, and even tried the Add/Remove Software option in Windows. Nothing picks it up. How can I get it off my computer? It bumps me pout of the sire that I am on when it pops up.

How Do I Set Up The Internet On A Freshly-recovered Computer?

Hi, I have a computer that had a problem so my uncle put in to Ubuntu software thing so it could work at least but with minimal usage. Also, at first I didn’t know where the recovery disks were but now, I’ve found them. I am planning on recovering it so that it can go back to its original Windows XP self. (even though I know everything will be gone from the ground up)…my problem is, will it lose its connectivity to the internet? It’s a desktop by the way. ALSO, it is connected to the Netgear router which I use for my laptop (i am using now)…if the desktop happens to not recognize that it’s connected to the internet, will the router not make the laptop connect to the internet either?
Lastly, how do I make the desktop connect to the internet? I hope I don’t need a comcast guy to do it so though…and will it affect the WIFI connectivity that the router has to my laptop (which I am using now by the way)….

Zonealarm And Avira Antivir – Confused Please Help?

I have a free version of ZoneAlarm running on my computer. I did have Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition downloaded but since I installed ZoneAlarm I get a warning box flashing up that AntiVir cannot be found or has been modified or destroyed. I am unable to remove the AntiVir software from my control panel Add/Remove but it is still listed on there. My Zonealarm tells me that I do not have an antivirus software installed though my windows security centre tells me that I do. How can I remove Avira successfully and what antivirus program should I install that will be compliant with ZoneAlarm?

Does Anyone Know What Software Is Good For Zooming All Areas Of The Desktop?

I had that kind of software before on my Toshiba laptop, straight from the store, but I’m not using laptop anymore. It’s actually like changing the resolution, to make everything bigger, unlike the magnifyer which is magnify what I pointed with the cursor. I prefer to have the webpages words to bigger by pressing a key on the keyboard.

Wtf Is Wrong With Bt Homehubs?

I have a toshiba equium laptop and an early bt home hub on total broadband, in fact I think it’s bt’s first hub of this style, the tall white one with square corners, later ones are round corners. I have recently used the original recovery disks to wipe and re-install vista on laptop, yes I know “go back to XP” I’d love to but it won’t have it, see other question. Obviously net is working but only when hard line, it won’t work wireless. Wireless adaptor is installed and working and turned on. Computer can find hub an get’s a connection to hub but not to interne, tell’s me I have limited or no connectivity. As far as I can tell I’ve installed all software and it is all stable and ready to go. I’ve got no idea what’s wrong with it.
