Alerts All Over My Computer To Get Protection, What To Do?

I’m on the computer, and I all of a sudden keep constantly getting alerts from my desktop toolbar telling me “Windows reports that computer is infected. Antivirus software helps to protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. Click here for the scan you computer. Your system might be at risk now.” And all of those typos are not typos, that’s actually how it’s said in the alert. So I’m thinking maybe this is some kind of trojan tricking me into purchasing fraudulent antivirus software.
It’s called Spyware Protect 2009, and when I click on the button in the alert to subscribe, the web site where I have to provide credit card information and so forth, has typos all over it (at the top it says “Powerfull Protection” spelled like that, and it’s not spelled correctly. The alert keeps popping up telling me “INFILTRATION ALERT” and that the computer is being attacked by this and that virus.
Is this a trojan program that keeps giving me this warning, or is it legit? I don’t know whether to believe what it’s telling me and subscribe, or to ignore it.
Does anyone know a FREE anti-spyware, antivirus program I can get online to protect my computer? What should I do?

Where Can I Find A Free Video Editing Software?

The videos are in MPEG-2 format. I need a software where in I can trim the unneeded parts of the video, add some background music, voice overs, texts wherever required.This video format is not supported by Windows Movie Maker(5.1). Software Against Keyloggers, Spyware Etc…?

My account for World of Warcraft has been hacked twice in the last two months.
I need a solution to this problem. I currently have the latest AVG, which recorded no keylogger/spyware, etc. I also have my Windows Firewall up, and a program called Popup Killer.
I need something that can find the keylogging software and destroy it =( otherwise im going to end up formatting all my hard drives + windows AGAIN.
Any suggestions on antivirus/spyware/ and most importantly, keylogging, software?
Please, I’m hoping for something free or affordable, not because I’m cheap, just because I don’t have the money to buy expensive programs :(

Would Drivers Be Lost If I Uninstall Vista And Reinstall Xp Pro For A New Laptop?

i have a HP laptop that came with vista. it has no downgrade option. im afraid that wi-fi, usb ports, dvd drive, tv tuner, webcam, radeon ati graphic card wont work if i overwrite the pc with XP pro…
the PC comes with a recovery disk but im not sure XP can extract drivers from the disk. and even so, im not sure if there are XP version of software to run these devices, specially the TV…
anyone know about these?

Ok, so I have sold some software (Sony Acid Pro 6 and Linplug RMIV) I am registered to this software. The people who have bought it want to register it in their names.
I don’t use the software anymore and I want my registration details removing.
I have contacted the companies. Can I do this and has anyone done it before?

Why Won’t My Windows Start? ?

our computer shut down on us last night. When we attempted to turn it back on, Windows will not start. A black screen comes up that says something along the lines of “Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change may have caused this”. At the bottom of the screen, there are 5 options. “safe mode” “safe mode w/ networking” “safe mode w/ command prompt” “last known good configuration” and “start windows normally”. None of the above work. The windows logo comes up and appears to be starting, then goes away, then comes up again and at the top there is “press f2 for setup and f12 for boot menu”. (I don’t know what they mean so I didn’t try them). After that it just goes right back to the previous screen.
I have a disk that says “operating system” on it and I think it’s to reinstall windows. If I do that….1. How do I do it. and 2. Will it erase everything on my computer previously (programs, aol, pictures, etc) and if so, once we get windows back up, can we do a recovery to about 3 days ago and will everything be there?

My Laptop Freezes Randomly , Esc Key And Ctrl/alt/del Keys Don’t Work .so I Have To Turn It Off.what Is Wrong?

My laptop (IBM think pad A 31) started suddenly and randomly freezing recently. This occurs while running any program and sometimes even during start up and shut down. The freeze up is not specific to any particular program and occurs after a variable period of apparently normal operation(mostly after few minutes but sometimes after 1-2 hours) Safe mode works fine. I tried to run antivirus scan, deleted recently installed software and run scan disk, disk clean up and disk defragment. There is adequate free disk space. My computers fan works well. I also tried troubleshooting with system configuration to no avail. What is the problem?
