As you might well be aware, Norton Personal Firewall is an abysmal piece of software…..it hogs up my RAM, takes ages to load up or display an alert when it has blocked something, and always has conflicts with my LAN. I was wondering if I could delete the Firewall alone and try to make the AntiVirus suite work with ZoneAlarm? Would this work? The only reason I want to keep the AntiVirus is that I still have more than half a year on my subscription and the free AV programs out there arent rated as highly as Norton’s (the opposite seems true of NPF compared to ZoneAlarm). Can I do this and run Norton AntiVirus 2005 with ZoneAlarm or is it not advisable?

Well i just got a imac
I don’t want to pay for antivirus software, i get norton free with my internet service should i go with that or do avg or something like that, what is good for a mac?? any other spyware software, etc..i should get beside antivirus?
Second question how do you take care of the imac to make sure its always running smoothly?
Like with xp i use to:
Delete cookies and all internet files etc
run disk clean up
run disk defrag
run scan disk/check disk
then run antivirus, spywares, etc…
Every week or two.
Is the mac different?? how do you maintain a healthy mac lol??

I mean is there a class you can take or is it just by working with the software, or what. I am very curious as to how it is done. If anyone has some suggestions as to what software to use that would be extremly helpful.

I was hired at Firstsource Advantage in February as a debt recovery agent. Since then I have enjoyed the environment and the professionalism of the company. I feel that I have the commitment and motivation to contribute to Firstsource Advantage.
I am scheduled to graduate from Hilbert College next month with a Bachelor of Business Administration. On my way to completing this degree I have completed many classes related to accounting such as Account I, Account II, Managerial Financing and Money and Banking. Next semester I will be taking three classes that will finish an Associates in Accounting to go with my in Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
I have completed a one month internship at FCI McKean Prison business office. During the time I understudied the accountant in the business office of the institution. I assisted her with her daily tasks such as payroll, data entry, book/record keeping, finance budgeting and more. Due to previous work experience and college courses I have proficient skills in Quickbooks, Word, Excel, Access, Windows and CUBS (Collections Software).
In addition to a results-driven approach, you can be assured that I would uphold the highest level of work detail and ethical standards. I am flexible and adaptable to both new situations and changing organizational needs. Proving my ability to adapt, with no collections experience I have exceeded my gate goal of $1,500 for the month of April and expected to finish over 300% of the goal.
Thank you for your time and consideration!

All thanks to some software problems that couldn’t be fixed, a few days ago I had no choice but to do a system recovery…..and in the process I lost my Norton 360 program (a 2-year subscription).
Since I downloaded the program from it’s website I do not have a hard copy disc, but I still have the product key and serial numbers. Is there a way to re-install it without having to pay $100.00 for it again?

i had to do a system recovery on my computer last thursday, and everything was going great until today… i started getting pummeled with pop ups, and different balloon pop ups about spyware detected, malicious software detected, etc… and then my wallpaper changed to a black screen with red writing about threats detected on the computer..i downloaded several different “anti-s” program to rid the computer from the bad stuff, and it did help alot….
now the question is:
my background automatically changed again to a plain grey wallpaper.. i went to control panel to change it, but when i would click on a name of a pic to use as the background, it wouldn’t let me.. it was like the entire background changing option was disabled…
WHY CAN I NOT CHANGE MY BACKGROUND??
thanks in advance, and sorry for the length!

I’m seriously considering using a different anti-virus program, but I’ve been reminded to do a “boot time” scan after installing the software. I’m not sure what a “boot time” scan is. I’m familiar with rebooting the machine after installation, if this is the same thing.
