    I suspected Adobe Flash before cruising over to the address given in your question. Viewing page source does reveal javascript and flash. Other software can create the effect, but none can offer user-interaction, client-side — which is the advantage of Flash.
    The good news is Adobe released ActionScript (the scripting language for Flash) into the public domain. Javascript should move into ECMAscript as an industry standard in the near future.
