Okay, since no-one seems to be interested in answering this question, for the sake of ‘peace’ (no pun intended), I will explain the steps:
    1 – download the 70’s symbol font you’ll find here:http://www.fontspace.com/category/peace+…
2 – unzip, and drag the MY70D__.TTF truetype font to the font directory, whether mac or windows.
3 – Download and install one of these to do your image editing in:
    windows & mac: http://www.gimpshop.com/
    windows: http://www.getpaint.net/
    mac: http://seashore.sourceforge.net/
4 – open the image you wish to add the peace sign to in the image editor of your choice
5 – Select the text tool (generally a T-shaped icon) and click or drag a text frame in your image
6 – Select the font labeled ‘My 70s Ding’.
7 – Hit the key. Presto, you added a peace symbol. Try some of the other keys – there are some fun 70’s symbols available.
You may have to change the font settings to get the best effect.
By the way, almost ANY paint software offers a text tool. As long as you copy this font to the font directory, and type the W-key, you can add as many as you like!
