Itouch Will Not Upgrade!!?

I recently downloaded the new itouch 2.0 software from apple. Once I start installing it, an error message pops up saying that the ipod could not be recovered. Then why I try it again a message will say that the iTouch is in recovery mode. When I go to recover it the same message will keep appearing. The error message either has a 13 or 6 at the end of it. If I go to a different account on my computer, I am able to restore it back to the old software, but I just can’t update to 2.0. Please Help!

   Restart your iPod touch, and try again.
   You restart by holding On/off and home button.
