  1. The fool has said in his heart: says:

Apparently it is an internal HDD
all you have to do is just insert it in its place ,then install Windows on it,,
if you don’t want to buy it ,,just download it from some warez site ,,like
Piratebay.com,,like the rest of us do

  2. You need the recovery CD from HP, it contains Windows and software on original HD. It is also a boot CD. Put new HD in the place the old one is in and hook power cable and Data cable back up just like old. Start computer and get in Bios usually F1 on HP and make sure HD is detected. You also need to change boot order to CD first. Exit bios saving changes and have the CD in the player. Windows setup will come up, you will need to format HD to fat 32 or NTFS depending on your Windows 98 or XP. Follow CD directions and should be breeze.

The only disk that you need is the recovery disk that has windows on it. Just put the new HDD in the old ones place and use the the same cables. After that put the recovery disk in, load up a fresh copy of windows and presto you are all done.

    Most HDD’s doesn’t come with a Disk.

No the HDDs’ do not come with any cables or disks. If you have the restore OS CD take it in and let then install the OS

The recovery disk should have an OEM windows version on it along with a distributor license product code and the drivers for your computer. BIOS is an acronym for basic input/output system. Use your old cables. If it doesn’t work try replacing the cables. Download dban. Darrell boot and nuke for wiping hard drives. You won’t need it for this hard drive. Start your computer and watch it boot. It should go into BIOS if you hit the Del key while it is booting. When in BIOS look for something like advanced BIOS setup and look for boot sequence settings. You won’t hurt anything or change anything if you are in a screen and you hit the escape key. Set your BIOS to boot from the CD drive and put the recovery disk in the CD drive. Hit F10 and Y for yes to save your new settings. When you are done installing the OS change the BIOS back to boot from the hard drive.
