ok i was using this software i downloaded (i think it was called paragon partition manager 9.0 PRO) to divide my C: to C and D. (im on vista by the way). and then the computer said i needed to restart to start doing te actual dividing… so i said yes and when it booted it went to a page where it seemed to be going ok (dividing the c drive) and when it was at about 60 percent the laptop just FROZE and eventhought i presed ESC or control C i couldnt get it to do anything so being the dum person i am i turned OFF the laptop!!! and when i turn it back on it just says. OPERATION INTERUPTED insert BACK UP or RECOVERY DISK or other recovery media and restart” and wont do anything else… so i tried the sony recovery tool using F10 and then it says changing C back to default and then when its over it said it will restart and start installing the softwares but when the C drive is formatted and the laptop restarts i just get the same page with the “OPERATION INTERUPTED insert BACK UP or RECOVERY DISK” again… no matter what i try in recovery tool nothing seems to work…
i bought this 3 months back in a store and have warranty for it but im afraid they wont help me because i was using 3rd party software…
i spent over $1800 and its only been 3 months….
PLEAES HELP ME OUT!!!!!
thank you

You might be okay if you simply say your computer is not booting up at all.
However, there was no need to use 3rd party software because Vista has its own partitioning facility in Computer Management. I used it to create a partition for Windows 7 which I’m using now
you might have wiped your software, you could 1) go back to the store and play dumb. “it started doing this today” and dont mention any 3rd party software.
or 2) contact sony for a set of restore disks, they will send them to you for the price if shipping.
the store might just swap it for you
Check and see if your machine is still under warranty(most likely)
Call them for tech support.
Now the best thing to do is partition the drives before you put the operating system on your machine. That’s why you may be getting this error
Try system restore as well.
Get you Vista disc, stick it in, turn off the computer. Do a Repair of your computer.
Or Try System Restore first..,…
