I want to display pictures and have them flip through while the music is playing. I need it to be able to play on a DVD player. I would also like the software to be able to let me add text on the pictures and insert text in between pictures. Also I would like to be able to insert a song at a certain point and stop it at a certain. I will not be playing the whole song…just bits and pieces of it. I see this on youtube.com all the time, but I don’t know what software to use to make this.

Windows Movie Maker. If you don’t have it, go to Microsoft.com and download it.
Hi – There are quite a few free video editing tools out there:-
Vivia
Wax
Jahshaka
Windows Movie Maker
Blender
VirtualDub
etc.
Some of these are simple and easy to learn (VideoSpin, for example), others are quite complex but harder to learn (Blender). However they will pretty much all do what you want.
The link below will take you to a site that details each of these, talks about the pro’s and con’s and gives links to their sites for downloading.
Hopefully this will answer your question
Gary
windows movie maker is good for simple **** otherwise it sucks balls.
but look it up on wikipedia and it will give you tons of other programs in the same category (like Muvee or Ulead)
I use Windows Movie Maker.
It’s pretty easy.
