I am going to be buying an iPod touch in the next few days and I was wondering if I have to pay the $9.95 for the new software update? Do I even need to buy an update or are those just extra?

if youre going to buy it, ask a person at the store, they should know
Update software could be extra bonus if you buy from Apple merchant.
Ask first before you buy, include the warranty.
