Imac Question?

I am sick and tired of going to ebay and trying to get a restore disk for my G4 iMac or G3, I don’t which one it is, but it is the blue one, with slot CD. You know I think iMac is stupider than a PC sometimes because at least with a PC you know what will work and what won’t.. On restore disks why don’t they put the models these things go on… all they say is iMac, but which one?????????? I would like to know, what restore disk will work on the year 2000 model, 400Mhz of my iMac?…. please…
I am trying to get out of the system disk because I want the perks with the software recovery disks….. can someone point me to a picture or something, so I can see what they look like? Thanks…
P.S. I have OS 8.5.1 orange restore disk, and it does not work….(I bought on ebay….)

Why Does My Computer’s Hard Drive’s Free Space Decreases?

I just bought a hp mini laptop. The total size of the hard drive is 15.2GB. The only thing i have installed after i bought the computer is an antivirus software and google chrome browser. The day before yesterday, the computer’s free space only have 9.2GB or something left. And yesterday i did not even touch the computer, when i open it today, the free space is only 8.4GB. Does anyone know what’s wrong with my computer and how can i fix it? Thanks.

Document Deleted Its Own Contents? Supergeek Needed.?

i was writing in wordpad (not word), when i went to save and it froze up. i did control+alt+delete and opened task manager, ready to shut the unresponsive program down. i waited a moment, then did the “end task” thing. well the document closed, and then when i went to open it up again… it was 0KB. the document is now completely blank. the file itself is still there but all the content has been erased. i immediately tried shift+z aka undo but nothing happened. i tried opening and closing the document many times and restarting my machine but to no avail.
using a deleted software recovery program has no affect, seeing as the file itself is still there, but there’s just nothing in it.
what the hell happened and is there anything i can do to restore the text that was in the file? i’ll try anything. please help.

How Can I Downgrade From Windows Vista Home Basic To Windows Xp Sp2?

I just upgraded to windows vista and I hate it it’s made my computer make programs stop responding and not work…the Installation cds did not come with my computer but as pr loaded software. I tried doing a software recovery with the boot up and it asks for an administrative password…I enter my password that I use at the main boot screen to log in,thus this is the only password on the computer..is there a certain password I need to know?? Please help!!!

Recovering Lost Files?

I deleted some files a month or so ago, which I just recently realised I wanted again.
Thing is, it was too big for the recycle bin so the comp asked me if I wanted to delete them permanently.
I said yes.
Today I have tried out a couple of different software recovery programs which still does not find the files.
The programs I tried were Pandora Recovery and File Recover (by PC tools).
Can anybody help me find the files?

Are There Any Digital Cameras That Do Not Require You To Load Camera Specific Software?

I would like to be able to download my pictures to any computer, but I figure with most cameras you have to install their software first. Is there generic camera download software available that I can carry with me on a memory stick, or even a camera that uses resident software on a PC to attach and download?
