Xp Antivirus Background Won’t Go Away?

Last night I was attacked by the XP Antivirus and I managed to get rid of the virus itself this morning. Unfortunately the background which I can’t seem to get rid of on my desktop (it says Warning! Spyware detected on your computer!) but I’ve tried kelly’s korner and basically everything else and I can’t get rid of the background! Also every time I try to go to a website to download a new antivirus software for free, it directs me to a “go-google” website and I can’t seem to get anywhere except for one site selling Cyber Defender (I dont even know if thats legit). What should i do??

Can I Set An Automatic Lock Out Time For Certain Computers In Windows 2003 Domain W/out 3rd Parthy Software?

We have a network across 8 sites. Some computers are accessed by students. We want to lock the student account (single account shared by all students) after 10-15 minutes on each computer. Also we would want to give teacher accounts the right to unlock these machines. Is there any way to do this without 3rd party software? If not what software solutions would be best? This is a non-profit company so the less expensive the better.

Downloaded A Suspicious File?

I downloaded a tracking app from utorrent that I didnt know was a tracking app…..my windows firewall blocked it when I opened it…do I have anything to worry about? I have windows XP that I just installed on my laptop.
I’m concerned about who may have access to my computer…..any help would be appreciated. I used a software recovery to see if it was deleted and all I found was the short cut. After running a system restore I ran the data recovery program again and found nothing. This is pretty serious so any advice would be greatly appreciated
